I'd be willing to swap w/ you, but I'm guessing the shipping charges would make it expensive. On a side note, I found a great writeup on the Bimmerforums about adjusting the laser pot for cd changers that skip too much. I installed my 98 MY cd changer into my buddies 95 MY car and it would skip occasionally. I adjust the pot, rubbed some alcohol and a q-tip on the laser, and now I can make that thing skip for the life of me.

Hi From New X5 owner
Hi re your conversation regarding Cd player connections. I have a 2005 3.0D sport uk model, it has the plug you have labelled as number 3 in your pics. Do you know if this is the plug I need for a CD multi ? Also does anyone know which model CD changer I need for my car??
Any help greatly appreciated |

Are you saying the CD came to life but isn't playing any music?
Or are you saying it's playing music but the menu shows no cd-s ? ![]() Quote:

Sounds like the co-ax output is a digital signal that needs a D/A Converter to give you R & L stereo sounds. The DSP would process the signal to give you the output. You MIGHT be able to use a battery powered DAC to feed the audio amp. Not having looked at the wiring or amp specs this is just a guess.
