CD changer

my car was originally equipped with cd changer. someone had removed the changer when I bought the car. i got used x5 changer few years back and decided to install it now. all went fine, two plugs into the changer and it came to life. the problem is, menu shows no cd-s but there are cd-s inside the changer. original music cd-s, not homemade stuff. any ideas what could be wrong? there is also one round socket on the changer that reminds antenna connection but i could not find any suitable wire for this one. could this be the problem?

Could have done something simple like loaded the cd's upside down in the cartridge?

thanks powers1, it seems i have the same problem. I cannot find the piush in cable that you mention. Wouldn't it be too much trouble to snap a photo and post. I must run a proper invertigation in the trunk to find the right wire.

the round socket that is found on your cd changer is for vehicles equipped with DSP audio system, that cable connects the cd changer to the DSP amplifler, if you do not have DSP, you purchased the wrong CD changer.

look in the right trunk area, behind the right side tail lamp, if there are speakers behind the removable panel, then you have DSP. also look at your radio, if you have Navigation it will be an option on the menu, if you have Business CD player, there will be a button on the right that says DSP.

seems I do not have DSP. however I discovered one potential cable for changer and few other exciting plugs. perhaps one could explain their purpose.

Could no1 be missing push-in cable?
No2 was disconnected and I connected it. Wonder what it does?
No3 and 4 look like they are ment for nothing
