Greg C is on a distinguished road
I had the same thing happen to my 03 X5 on my way to Chicago for New Years. Happened when I crossed the border into Il. Spent NY Eve at the BMW dealership. They charged me $ 308.91 for the same part, Bastards!. Drove back to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Monday morn, smoke was comming out of the hood. It was leaking oil from the valve cover. Had it towed to my local dealer. They claim some type of EGR valve got stuck closed, built up pressure in the crankcase, and cracked the fricken valve cover. They want to charge me about $ 1200.0 to replace the valve cover. I am soo pissed!
by the way, where did you get the price of only $212.50 for the Adjuster Valve?
