You dont have any error messages??Seems like you are running in Safe Mode!
You changed the Diesel filter?Did you let the tank run completely dry?
Loads of debris could be colected anywhere in the fuel system?Pump,injectors..etc....

Did engine go go above 3000 rpm before you let tank run dry and cleaned the pumps?
You maybe have disconnected a plug by mistake?

If I understand what you are saying, the 3000 rpm limit was already there before you run out of fuel!
Your problem may not be fuel related but possibly transmission!
Since you have no error messages, best thing to do is to get your X5 hooked up to a Bmw Diag machine to see if it registered your fault.

There is no problem whit transmission, when we try engine in neutral position gear the engine work is same. Now engine go to 3500-3900 rpm I don't now reason why go up from 3000rpm before , Bmw Diag machine registered 1260 error fuel pressure or something like that, then we connect some other fuel pump whit new tank after fuel filter directly and engine work same when work whit own pump and tank.I think is some problem after fuel filter. On the and I must go to the BMW service or?
