4.6is exhaust tips

Hi, i have a bmw 2003 x5 4.4i, can anyone tell me how the 4.6is tips fit on to my 4.4i quad pipes and whether the rectangular bracket inside the tips comes already built in? or whether that is a separate part that i would also need? many thanks

Hi and welcome.
I have the 4.6is complete silencers/tips.
Looking at RealOEM.com BMW E53 X5 4.6is Exhaust system, rear show thet tips being available separately and you can see how they fit.
So,it looks like the tips dont have the rectangular bracket....

Just get the 4.6is tips ( You don't need the rectangular bracket inside the tips}and take off the quad tips from your 4.4i then weld the 4.6 tips on.

You right.he doesnt need the rectangular bracket! He can also make them! Its all a matter of taste!
It does look a lot better with this bracket ,also creating a seal and avoiding "blow-back" of exhaust fumes.

this is the problem i have! i want to be able to see twin pipes inside the trim! that rectangular bracket is built into the tailpipe it self which the trim fits on to giving it that genuine look! perhaps i should try and hunt down 4.6is rear silencers or just give up! lol, thanks for yr replys
