hi
had same problem on one of my x5 battery flat door froze some tw..t pulled on handle and it came of in his hand.
i got over it by wedging top of the door open d/side with 2x wooden wedge get a fairly stiff bit of wire bend it on the end. feed down to inside door lever. onced hooked move wire towards rear of car so you have a back ward pull.then i gently pulled lever out twice, once to disingage dead lock second time poped door open, what a releif thouht i might have to break a window.
with the door open i was able to lift bonnet with another battery and jump leads attatch to jump points possitive on rear panel neg on wing panel. onced connected push door lock button on centre consall to opperate all locks your remote key will probably do same once boot was open take jump leads off an replace battery possitive first then neg.my x5 is up and running once again hope this helps good luck

How did you wedge the top of the door open, did that not put the door out of shape?

my friend works for bmw body centre 15 years experience he said door will move out about an inch but only at top before door curves toword bonnet you need couple wedge ease them in a bit at a time untill you think it is enough to get your wire in. the door stayed in shape. the wedges i used were normal plastic household door wedge being soft plastic it did not damage any paint work.

And that trick only works if you don't have an alarm... with the alarm set it stays double locked until you either disarm the alarm or push the lock button on the console, which requires power anyways.

Try locking yourself in your truck and see what you gotta do to get out.

Maybe the Euro Specs are different from US - harley is on "mud (snow!) island"? I know my 3 series used to work like Weasel says because I got locked out and tried the wedges and hooking the door handle and no joy, car would not open... I will try it on my Euro spec X5 and see if it is the same as harley's. On my 3 series even pressing the unlock button on the console would not unlock the car from the inside if it was locked with the remote and the alarm was on. With the 3 series I eventually had it towed (i.e dragged up onto a a flat bed trailler) to the dealer and they opened for me at great expence...
