My beloved left on a flatbed this morning.

Driving along yesterday and the transmission fail safe warning came on. I pulled over shut it off restarted and was fine for the rest of the day. Last night went to run an errand and noticed the battery light was on. When i was done at the store, It started back up fine. On the way home, every light on the dash came on. Everything slowed down and systems started to fail one at a time, until I idled my way home, luckeley only 5 minutes away.

Would not start this morning, not even with a jump.

The dealer is replacing the alternator as I type. Thanks extended warranty!

From reading here over the years, I thought it was either the battery or alternator, but the car really puts you through a lot.

I had the same problem last week and got the battery and alternator replaced. Luckily my 06 X5 was still under the new car warranty. The dealer said these items are not covered under the CPO warranty. Is that true? This was every disappointing since I replaced the alternator back in September '09, 4 months ago.

What type of warranty do you have?

I have to admit, I am happy to know you were talking about your car. I was afraid you had a very large boyfriend/girlfriend. Let's hope you get "your beloved" back soon!
