Angel eyes bulbs

I was just quoted $345 from the dealer to replace the bulbs for the angel eyes on a 2004 x5. They said they need to remove the bumper to access the headlight housing. does this sound right? it sure sounds way to expensive to fix.

They do not need to remove the bumper or the headlights to gain access to the angel eye bulbs.

its a 15-30 mins installation, I say you do it yourself.

Wow! For 345 bucks I can prob fly down there and install it for you and still make about 150 bucks tell the dealer to kiss your A** and do it yourself!

All you need to do is pop off the rear cap on the headlight, twist the bulb holder out, and replace it. On the passenger side you can remove the airbox should you need more room, and on the drivers side you can remove the 3 bolts that hold the coolant tank and shift it to the side to gain access to the cap.

while you at it; might as while get yourself some white AE LED bulbs and do it yourself. It's not that hard. As stated before, you do have to remove the air intake box to get access to the passenger side; no biggie. Good luck.
