Check engine light on headlights acting weird ??

Hello guys,

This happened to be before. My check engine light came on and stayed on and I noticed that one of my headlight HID buld wouldnt come on. This happened for days on end then all of a sudden just stopped and everything worked just fine. Spoke to my mechanic and said it could have somthing to do with the CANBUS. Could a weak battery cause these issues to trigger the check engine light ?? Its a 2004 4.4 X5. Probably original battery. There is no drivability issues (none that I notice). I have 105,000km and just did an Inspection 2.

Has this happend to anyone before

Thanking you in advance

Batteries cause havoc on these cars. Try installing one just to be sure, if not, at least you can swap your old one back in.
