Looking for a completely Skirt Package all around for my X5

My mechanic had a 2004 X5 4.4L and had upgraded the entire black pieces with an upgraded aerodynamic kit from BMW. I was just wondering if anyone has done this and it there are any pics floating around and what did you pay for it. This kit apparently replaced the entire bumper right up to the headlights the side running boards and rear bumper. Is there any aftermarket kits out there available for my X5 as well.

It’s also a 2004 X5 4.4L

Thanks guys

Wow I love the way the front and side skirts of the DTM look but I dont like the rear. How I do like the ebay motors add on kit for the rear.

I dont know who has the DTM one but I have headlight washer nozzles would I end up losing those ?? I also have PDC on the turck so its looking like #1 maybe the winner more and more

You could always go with the "4.8is" look and get the new front bumper, rear "spoiler" and running boards. Although it's not a full "skirt" as you said earlier, it's an awesome, classic look that many of us upgrade to.

ANyway, just a thought as I'm going through this process now on our 2006 3.0....due to an accident we needed a new front bumper so it's the perfect time to upgrade to the 4.8 look!

Here are some prices on the front bumper and I think the rear spolier and it's two end caps retail from a BMW dealer for around $700. Obviously all these prices are retail and hopefully you could do a bit better. Also a link to the thread i started about this 4.8 kit upgrade.

So, if I can contribute for others I have the following info/pricing on these parts to share from our dealer in NJ.
2004-2006 X5 3.0 "bumper" (w/ headlight cleaning & PDC) is 51117129297 @ $905.53.
2004-2006 X5 4.8is "bumper" (w/ PDC...no option for headlight cleaning???) is 51117146578 @ $863.43.

Thank you for the input that actually sounds like a great idea. I basically just want to do away with as much of those black plastic pieces as possible. My mechanics wife works for BMW and I am extremely fortunate to get discounts from her. So exactly what would the 4.8is kit come with?? I like my current running boards so I am assuming I will be keeping those? I do have PDC and Headlight cleaning nozzles. Can someone supply some pics of the piece this kit comes with sorry if it’s a dumb question I am a newbie to the X5 world

Don't know if you've seen a facelifted with OEM aero kit, but here is one I came across.2005 X5 4.8 aero kit - bimmerfest - BMW Forums
As stated on the other post, the 4.8is kit will come ready for PDC and headlight nozzles as 4.8is' came with both standard.
Personally like the aero kit for its clean lines, but love the face of the is. If you are trying to get rid of all of the black the aero kit does that. Of course the usual suspects (AC Schnitzer, Hamann, etc) offer kits of their own (at least did at one point).

Well, I have a bit of an update and some info to share on the upgrade to the 4.8is "kit". I went to Morristown BMW today and worked with one of their parts guys to get some further details and (discounted) pricing.

Also, to clarify, this is not really sold as a "kit" from BMW dealers, rather you are just buying the extra spoiler which gets added (with adhesive most often times) to your exhisting rear bumper, two "end caps" for that spoiler and then the entire front bumper from the 4.8is which replaces your current bumper. The front bumper from the 4.8is basically adds the additional body-color spoiler or valence or whatever you wantr to call it on along the bottom of the bumper. Most agree this is a significant upgrade to the 3.0 or 4.4 bumper as looks go.

Parts numbers and prices -
And note that Morristown BMW in NJ, when selling these 4 pieces together, is offering some awesome pricing. They said it would be ok to point board members to them if people are interested. Buying the pieces individually does not get you this pricing, only as a set. As a side note from my original thread on this (which I'll post this in as well), a bunch of people said you'd be be near $2000 for the 4.8 kit painted. I could see this working out to $1500 for sure.

So, Part number - 51117146578 Primed 4.8is Front Bumper $550
51127062601 "Support rear bumper" (aka rear spoiler piece) $275
51127062599 Support cover left $125
51127062500 Support cover right $125
$1075 with paint maybe around $1500!!!!! NICE!

As far as seeing this kit you should just search for pictures of a 2004-2006 X5 4.8is. You'll see the extra front and rear spoiler pieces and it looks awesome. Check it out.

Lastly, as one more option for you and with regard to your wanting to eliminate all the black plastic, many people have had the black trim painted body-color around the entire truck. This would certainly get rid of the black! Just a thought!

Good luck!
