Audio Aux In

Just wondered whether anyone has/is experiencing a similar problem? I had a DVD changer and Alpine 7” screens fitted to the back of the headrests. Originally the installer had connected the audio via the ‘Audio In’ at the rear of the centre consul however this only provides monaural sound. I then altered this myself by adding the BMW provided cable and attached it to the ‘Aux In’ at the rear of the dash display monitor. Although its original intention is for Ipod, it serves just as well for any audio input via a 3.5mm jack plug. However the problem I have now is I can’t use the TV in motion cable as if the display monitor is selected to Aux In, the sound is ‘Muted’? The OBM must be selected to an alternative display such as the Satnav screen in order to restore the sound. I would imagine this is more of a programming issue than anything else, but I just wondered whether anyone else had experienced this and whether they were able to resolve it other than returning to Mono sound?
Another odd thing that happened when I fitted the dealer supplied cable (over two years now) is the display shows I now have Auxiliary Heater, maybe I overlooked it in the past but I’m sure it wasn’t there? I assume this heater would be additional option and not supplied as standard fit? I know I could go down the route of unplugging the cable to see whether this option disappears but I was just intrigued whether this is the case?
