After repairs still having problems Need Help
The drive home must have drain the battery because when I tried to crank the car, after the repairs, there was no power. I charged the battery and went to the part store to buy a new battery. When I got there I was told I had a water leak and sure enough I did. The car is not showing any codes. After the battery replaced, I drove home and looked under the car and no water leaks. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT? COULD MY ALTERNATOR GONE BAD WHEN THE BELT BROKE? |

what? i am lost, why would a water leak cause the alternator to go??? and why did you replace the WP? did you verify it was bad? please clarify as why did you go get a battery too? seems like a lot of unnecessary work for just a popped belt

Not sure how the auto-part-store could tell you about water leak when there is no trace of coolant or code? The alternator on 4.4i is water cooled. |

you could have a warped alternator. check the voltage and go from there

Maybe my discription is misleading. No, I am not saying that a water leak, after the repairs, cause the alt to go. I think the bearing in the pump when bad and caused the belt to brake. I could take the fan blade and move it up and down and all around. I decided to get a new battery before my warr was out because now I have a brand new 3 year free replacement at a discounted price.
