How do I test a used OEM headlight unit?

I am looking for some used OEM Xenon headlight assemblies

My question is how do I test a used OEM headlight assembly (housing, ballast, bulb, etc) when I find one?

Obviously I don't want to buy a dud but I know very little about electronics.

Thanks in advance!

-Get yourself a 12V power source (Battery Charger, Test Bench, Converted Computer PS)
-Pick up a Male 9006 headlight connector or use the supplied connector if it was purchased.
-Safely and securely connect the positive wire from the headlight connector to the + lead from your chosen power source. Similarily connect the negative sides of the connector and source
-Make sure the bulb is connected securely to the ballast
-Plug the connector from the source into the ballast
-Turn on power source and lights should turn on.

Can you help me too?

HI,

I am looking to test Bi-Xenon HID assemblies before I would install them into a car to make sure everything works (want to make sure the: ballast works, high beam works and low beam works properly).

So the complete HID would be assembled and it is needing something to turn on the HID assembly and the testing unit would also need to be able to turn on the low beam and the high beam (verifying the bulb indeed works in both hi and low beam).

Additionally, some of of the HID units would have an LED halo eye inside the headlight that would need to be tested which is not connected to the HID ballast system. I assume of the tester can work for the Bi-Xenon HID unit, testing this would be simple.

Here is a link to see a picture of the setup incase this helps??

I am doing this for a school project and any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated!
