yellow tinge to NAV screen on cold startup sometimes

Does anyone else experience this? My 01 740i has the same screen and I never seen it do that before. But once the car is driven for 10-15 mins then all of a sudden the yellow tinge disappears and its back to being nice/bright/clear again. Thought it was weird?

i experienced the same few weeks ago under extreme cold weather, all i did was bang on the side of the screen bezel with my hand and voila, it looks like brand new now.

I think its sensor

This happened to mine recently. I started a thread here.
I also had Bluetooth playing up and Radio/CD/Audio stopped.
I got audio back by removing and re-seating fuse #72, but the screen stills goes yellowish and Bluetooth still not functioning correctly.

The weather here is NOT cold. (Around 27C today).
Battery reads 13.8-14 when running and 12.8 when stopped (Via OBD) so I think this is fine.

As the screen also doesn't open any more either, I'm more inclined to think it's a connection/screen issue?

Mine does it when cold also, just turn the screen off and back on should clear it. I think there is some capacitor diode type thing that the screen uses to "boot" up and i believe that its the part that is failing.

Hi

I'm from the uk and have been having this issue for a while now. The screen is almost like a dull yellow orange colour.

Today I purchased a new battery and fitted this along with removing the holding screws in the screen and removing and reconnecting the ribbon cables at the back. I'm glad to say everything is back to normal and i would go as far to say that's it's looks better and brighter. I have a 2004 with the original battery so it's was about done anyway

Replacing the battery appears to have worked for me.

i am still unsure about battery replacement... how can it only affect the nav screen.

also when i hit the nav screen with my palm couple of times it comes back to normal color.. for a few days. then when it starts again, i hit it again.. its a weird relationship here guys haha
