Forgot to ask before. Do you have the factory nav system? (I noticed that you have a small portable nav unit) I'm curious if the windshield would block any of the necessary electronics for the nav system?

No, I don't. I prefer the easy upgrade and multi-car portability of the Garmin.

Well I didn't know I had climate comfort glass until reading this thread. I have the two cutouts up top and one on the bottom. I just happened to put my toll transponder on one of them, so it works fine. Factory nav has no issues. I suppose my test drives were spaced enough to where I didn't see a difference in the glass. It is PPG, but cannot find any p/n that matches what realoem shows.

Very cool. Thanks for the added info. Can you post some pictures of it including the labels (PPG, etc)?

Forgot to ask this before, but is it even possible to have the V1 take advantage of the cut-out? The area seems so small and narrow that it would be impossible. Correct me if I'm wrong?

I'd be interested to see a pic of said 'comfort windscreen'. Apparently they have a bluish, purplish hue/tint to them.
An article here: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...tallation.html from within these pages explains colour difference.

Yeah I saw the pics on the main page, but another thread has since said it really isn't that blue (must've been the sun angle). I'll take the pic when I can, it is supposed to be sunny all week.

Scott

ps-see any purplish here?

Okay here you go.

First off these pictures are not great. Taken with Droid on lower setting so I don't fill up the whole page with pictures. I'll try to find our real camera and see if they come out any better. Well crap they're still big, just not as high quality. Sorry again.
1st pic=numbers
2nd pic=inside shot of top left cutout
3rd pic=outside shot """
4th pic=outside shot of bottom cutout
