Does anyone have.....?

Does anyone have the:

Thermostat & Water Pump DIY

with pictures.

the one on the website in the articles section has the pictures missing.

I want to see if I can tackle changing the water pump by myself.

thanks

try this one. Writeup for the water pump, thermostat and some hoses enclosed. LONG....

I used it and it was pretty complete. it's found on the e38.org site for v8's. there are a few threads. I did not remove my radiator and had little problem. when you get to the point you want to remove the water pump do not forget to remove the damper pulley. i got tired and forget that part and kept trying to work the pump out under that pipe that goes across the front of the engine. pay close attention to the o-rings, mine leaked, not because of the o-rings but because I did not get the hoses on tight. you should hear them click into place. otherwise, it was a fairly straightforward install. I used e38.org write up as well. very good ste-by-step.

It's not bad but take your time, I always make sure I have enough time like start working on Friday night so I have the entire weekend just in case. Also Saturday means dealer part dept is open if I need to get gasket, o-ring, small little things etc.

IMHO, I'll check the valley-pan gasket and valve cover gasket as well, if they leak may as well do it at the same time you work on WP.
I have to go back this summer to fix the VP gasket and have to remove the WP and valve body again (maybe even the upper radiator hose, the radiator neck is composite which I hate to wigle around one to many).

It's not bad just time consuming. Good luck.
