Is that OK if I use Dextron VI? Actually I just did....... Cuz it says on the back that "Dextron VI has more benefits than Dextron III, and back serviceable to Dextron III compatible standards......."

Let me know if I should throw it away......

Thanks!

Don't throw it away Dex VI is backward compatible with Dex III. How does the steering feel now?

The hose usually leaks at the top. I cut mine off about an inch and reinstalled it with a regular hose clamp to fix it. Had to do it on my 530i and the X5. Did you notice if yours is leaking or not?

It's slightly a light lighter, maybe because I just changed it and the new fluid hasn't fully mixed with the old oil, I'll give it more feel tmr.

Question: how long between 1st drain&fill and 2nd?

No need to wait all I did was take it for a 2 minute drive around the neighborhood. I flushed it 3 times using the turkey blaster before I got the fluid to stay pink

While this is probably a good thing to do as regular maintenance, you really should also change the filter for obvious reasons.

Oh and quick question, when I checked the level it was at the lowest point on the dipstick (1st groove) so I just refilled it twice at the same level, but over at E46fanatics they recommend that it be at the highest point (second groove) can anyone fill me in on this

I always thought stiff steering was good? Or am I confusing that with "responsive steering."

I have found that ever since I put the big wheels on, the steering wheel has too much play, and its not as stiff as I like. Where as the new X has a nice responsive feel.

Steering components getting worn?

Would changing the PS fluid help this any?
