10,000 miles

Well,I've put 10k on the X5 since I got her.Overall,I love it.The 4.4 is quiet until you give her some juice,Michelin Diamaris are kind of loud, but ok.I love the exhaust note of the X too!!Had some maintenance done a few months ok,control arm bushings, belts, coolant flush, brake fluid change, valve gasket covers, and an oil leak.Odometer is at 51700 and I hear a popping sound but it will be looked at while I'm in Atl.But yeah,I love my X and hope to keep it running as long as possible.

good to hear it - I too have logged 10K miles since getting my X5 4.6is, although the ODO has a few more digits populated than yours since I am past 105K miles now. The car runs great and I sure enjoy driving it. It is a 2nd car for me, not a daily driver, but I still expect to be logging somewhere around 10K miles per year. The first year is skewed due to the drive from KY to CA put 4K miles on it, and then my wife put another 2K on it in December when her car puked an engine.

I put around 10k since i got mine and to honest I sure do have little problems here and there but gosh I love the X. the car is amazing, i love the body the most to be honest and the drive is great when the tranny doesnt bug out. I got my 01 X5 4.4i at 112k and shes at 122k today, and she still runs like a beast..... X's are the best.

And to be honest I really don't think they die. Ive seen an X5 with crappy maintenance, the car drove like shit and it ended up killing the engine with 103k on it, the car didnt have an oil change within years of the driver driving it. he abused the crap out of the car. and on a side note i have a friend who owns a 2000 X5 and he has over 418k last i checked, he changed his transmission once and after that for him its just brake pads, rotors, oil change and I THINK he changed his water pump once? not sure on that one.....

Very nice car. Ours is Journey pkg with no sport and has an AT. Great car for the money - it is 90% of a 335 for 70% of the cost and if you factor in long term maint and repair it should just keep delivering in the value dept. vs. BMW. I have not spent much time in it yet, the wife has been driving it while I was fixing her run-about daily beater Mazda which she should be able to start driving again next week. I think she put close to 5K miles on the G37 in 2 months
