Paint protection film

I started this thread in the detailing forum and got no response trying my luck here...

Heard many conflicting stories...this film is better than that film, thicker, shinier, orange peal, etc, etc, etc. I know many here have much experience, what say you? I'm leaning towards the 3m product.

Thanks in advance for all replies
Mac

I think it was discussed here a while back.... I have 3M film on this X5 and on the 2001 I had. I like it a lot - seems thicker. We had a clear film installed on the 3 series when we bought it - dealer had a vendor install it and can't quite remember the name. Anyway it's quite thin and after 3 years is starting to bubble and come up. Because it was done in California and is 10 hours away it makes it hard to go back and get it looked at.

Still enjoying the protection of 3M film on my X5. Looks like new after 5 years now. Still completely transparent with no peeling or pitting. Same goes for my 5 year old Honda Odyssey. I'm not surprised...this was my experience on a previous vehicle also.

My only regret was not having it applied to other areas of my X...such as the painted bumper panel behind the rear wheels. Huge gravel rash...

3mfilm is the best. try xpel products to get the cutouts or locate installers near you

Take it back and have the dealer redo it. Most clearbras have a 5 year warranty...and the dealer should stand by it as well as the installing company. Call them up and ask them.
