On the X pipe diameter, Weasel might be right. I looked back at my receipt and I have it written down for a Magnaflow 2.5" X pipe. After Weasel's response, I checked the exhaust diameter listed for the X5 and found it to be 55mm...Roughly under 2.25". My x Pipe looks like it transistions onto the factory piping as it should so I dont know why I was told it was a 2.5" unit they used? |

That way, we can compare stock resonator with Remus versus X-pipe with stock muffler.

I'm out in Pasadena, but pass through the OC area from time to time. If I cant get a clip in reasonable time, i'll see if I can quickly get around to your area and pass through...at highway speed if possible.

I've just ordered some Magnaflow mufflers and tips to put on ours, planning to keep the stock resonators (no x-pipe for round one) and see how it sounds. The X is really the wife's DDriver so we don't want it TOO loud. Post some sound clips please! |

Wouldn't the Magnaflow Mufflers output more of a sound than the x pipe? The X pipe at idle sounds almost like its not even there. I would imagine the mufflers to resonate some sort of sound?

Ok, Just got my first X and I can wait to start modding. Now I have a question Ive been reading about the x pipe just for more sound than performance. Is there a difference between buying a 80 dollar magnaflow xpipe oppose to just buying a 30 dollar "run of the mill" x pipe.

I would think so, since I had some poor quality exhaust tips, they rust much faster.

High temp paint would most likely reduce the rusting of the pipe...although the cheaper x pipes still claim to be made of stainless steel.
