Photoshoot v.Went to watch an Auto-X, someone twisted my arm to join in....

Location: ACU-4 Hovercraft landing pad on Little Creek Amphibious Base. Virginia Beach, VA

A buddy in a stockish Mazda Miata ran the course in 63.8 seconds.
Another friend in a C5 Vette with Z06 suspension ran 63.8's as well.

The X5 wasn't too far behind with a best of 69.676 seconds.

Unofficial results: TSCC 3/21/10 Event #1 at ACU4 - Autocross.US Forums

Brakes never faded after many runs. I wonder why? Must have been that USELESS BLING kit that will never work better than stock so it's a waste of money. Get the fuck out of here. Now, the next step is to look at is fitting a crank scraper/windage screen (Or an M5 oil pan?) these motors get a temporary tick in the valve train when the oil gets frothy.

pics.

Enjoy.

Well since you are actually racing it isn't a useless kit is it?

Nobody ever said they won't perform better just that they are unnecessary unless you are doing things like AUTOCROSSING them. Sheesh

But congrats on enjoying the X in a way most will never understand. I'm looking forward to an autocross or two myself.

They're better on the track, on the street, and any other paved surface when driven with the same style. (Too aggressive driving for the street? Stay off the damn sidewalk.)

Might want to try it with the steering angle sensor unplugged. See what works for you.

Time to get some sway bars.
They make beefier bars? I might just do nothing with the vehicle and continue working on the driver. (Like, not missing the paddleshifters as I whip the wheel around)

Yes sir, right here.

There are a few others that have them as well. Pretty significant difference. Increase steering response and less lean for faster corner speeds.

Searching 'autocross' I found this old thread. What does unplugging the SAS do?
