How many miles can I expect from a well cared for Transmission before i need to replace it?

Depending on how well it is maintianed im sure it can last well over 100k, I have a friend with an X5 ZF transmission rebuilt only once and he has over 410k on it still running today.... so it really depends.

I've got 135k on mine and it's now down shifting by itself. Talk to a guy who thinks the mecatronic module (valve body). I don't know, it only does it once in awhile.
