Twice today when driving normally she jumped put of drive ?
The auto-stick was in 'D' even though she felt as though she was in neutral...
.... engine revving and not going anywhere !!
The noise was a 'clunk' then a 'meshing of gears' sort of noise ?
She is a late 2005 3diesel with 73k miles
Any ideas very welcome .... cheers

Its your transmission overheating, I have had the same problem, how long do you drive until this happens?

I had done about 65miles before it happened the first time...... the second was about 30 miles later, whilst in cruise control (75mph) ?

what was the outcome with yours ?
