You should start there, and don't think that if you buy the diesel anything is going to change. There has been several post about problems with those as well. You will just be spending more time at the dealer. The intake boot is less that 20 dollars and it take 30 minutes to fix.

Also, this is a very easy repair. Any car that is out of warranty will be expensive to maintain if you take it to the dealer of all places for a simple repair like this.

Thanks guys, I screwed up, I thought I was going to save since it was CPO, I still had to pay the $50 deductible, so I took my losses, it would have been $50, plus the $20 to $30 dollars on the part, plus putting it in...

Anyways, I learned my lesson, im buying the PEAK reader and reset tool for $149.99, and from now on, that would be the last dealer repair I do unless its CPOd..

I hated I threw away $177 dollars.. wow..it seems pretty easy..

By the way while I was at the dealer, I test drove the 35D, I loved it.

But when my car was washed at the dealer (total price for the wash: $177 lol). It felt nice, wow, my triple black on black on black X5 is crazy nice, here is a picture of it towing:





Im going to detail it and take pictures of the interior, it has the panaromic moonroof, sunroof and its crazy nice...

LOL!

Wow, I feel like a celebrity now since my name is in the headlines. Sorry for your misfortune cheappc. I just replaced mine too $32 (price at dealership) and 1 hour of my time. I'm still waiting on my new window regulator to come in so my X is still out of commission, sitting the garage.

Regarding the diesel, I prefer that style of engines as well for several of the reasons you mentioned. All of my trucks are diesel and you can't beat it with a stick. My personal truck has had one issue in over 200K miles now, other trucks have been slightly less fortunate but I've had several different idiots behind the wheels. My personal vehicles would be diesel also if the government would allow it. While I can't speak for BMW diesels specifically, I can say that every other diesel I have owned has been very dependable (mostly cummins and a few duramaxes, no powerjokes . . . I mean powerstrokes).

Why would u pay the dedutible for the CPO when the parts and labor are not covered. They ripped u off!
