Faulty Instrument cluster
(2005 Diesel model) The pixels are fine on mine, but the MPG and Temp needles are faulty but more concerning is that the cluster is causing a battery drain. Sometimes the car can go flat in 20mins. My local BMW specialist swapped the cluster as an experiment and the problems when away.
