Hard to remove dip stick/oil fill cap
In all of my e36's I would rotate the dip stick right then left and it would pop out easily, the oil filler cap would come of with no problem. In the e53 I had to rotate the stick all the way around and then pull on it pretty hard to get it out. Oil cap almost took 2 hands to get off. Anyone else have this? |

Never had a problem with dipstick or oil fill cap. Only one hand and half twist.
The coolant reservoir cap is another matter. The clearance on my '05 isn't much more than a #2 pencil, so my fingers can't really get around the cap. I kind of have to push down on the top and twist, like the childproof cap from the Pharmacy. |

Yes, my '01 requires a firm tug on the stick, and a serious turn on the cap...they have been like that since day one.

Ok, that puts me at ease. I was starting to think it was some sort of oil temperature issue expanding stuff and causing the issue.
Thanks everyone. |

Just an anomaly on some, imo...both stick and cap on mine, are tough to pull/turn even when engine is stone cold.
