ANTITHEFT SYSTEM for the 2001 x5

DOES anyone know how the system works?(for the 2001 4.4 X5 )

I want to know that because there are too many car thefts (especially the x5 in my country)

Lock your doors, it already has an antitheft system. The doors already double lock the pins so you can slimjim the vehicle, the ignition system won't work unless the actual key w/ the correctly coded transponder chip is there, etc. Unless someone is taking your VIN to the dealership and is able to get keys cut specifically for your vehicle, you'll be fine.

There is a video I've seen on YouTube where someone mounted flamethrowers under the sideskirts to prevent carjacking. It'd definately be illegal in many countries, but just about anyone could still install it...just don't use it, and if you had to, cross that road when you get there.

We steal about 30+ cars every week . . . anything from BMW's and Mercedes to Honda's. You'd be amazed how fast and easy it is and how many times it is done w/o a single witness. If we didn't call the cops ourselves and let them know we took it, nobody would ever know.
