Do they get brighter when you accelerate?

Does it brighter if you turn the rheostat wheel above the fog light switch?

Are the instrument lights dimming and brightening with the turn wheel but the pixel display remains dim .
I think that could be controlled by a daylight sensor on the rearview mirror mount to windscreen . possibly the part which looks like a small solar panel .
checking wire connectors sometimes fixes problem .

Did you install any after market headlights? try playing around with the headlight switch, switch it back and forth for a good 2 min and it should go back to normal, thats what happened to me when the lighting went perm dim.
