Thanks for the offer~
I live in Mill Creek.. little far isn't it. Unfortunately, I don't have proper jack so I guess I better take it to the garage.

JCL, yep, you are right, I am little suspicious that did dealer really changes back in two years ago? At that time, they were telling me over 1k of price and that's why I grabbed their 2.4k extended maintenance warranty. Nuts, again, the light came on after warranty period.

Just change the pads and get new brake sensors. Its most likely just the fronts that need replaceing but I would check front and back and replace them all at once.

Mill Creek isn't far at all. I've been meaning to go see a friend in Marysville anyways, and my son lives in Granite Falls...now that's far Any updates?

Did you use any of the ext maint warranty? You should contact BMW where you purchased and see if they will take care of your maintenance since timing is so close. BMW replaced my moonroof as a one time good will gesture 13 months after my 4yrs were up b/c I only had 48.5k miles. You should try... the worst they will tell you is no. But the best is yes!

JCL will become famous soon enoughJCL will become famous soon enough
There is some room to make a case for good will consideration on a parts failure like the moonroof. There is not the same room on the expiry of the prepaid maintenance.

Isn't that what owning a not so new/ out of warranty BMW now means? Being Mended Weekly?

Exactly! I always laugh at people when they complain about buying 50k vehicles for 1/3 the price of brand new, then complain because they spend money left and right doing maintenance. When it comes to BMW's...if you want brand new reliability, you pay brand new prices. Otherwise, be prepared to pay and pickup the ball where the last owner had dropped it because they didn't wanna pay for repairs.

I would love to get 25K out of my front brakes!! I live in Chicago with a stop light every 600 feet (no Kidding) and I get only 15K out of the fronts and 20K from the rears. FYI BMW uses the same 7 pads and rotors on a 7 series and the X5. A 7 series curb weight is 3800 pounds the X5 is more like 5000 pounds.BMW should have designed the X5 with heaver duty pads and rotors IMO.

My 740iL is exactly 4230lbs w/0 me in it and 1/4 tank of gas. Other than going crazy on a BBK, some of us 540/740 owners have upgraded to 750iL calipers and rotors. I'll have to pull them off the 7 one of these days and see if they'll fit on the X as well. I don't know why I never thought of that.
