X5 REMOTE

HAVE 2003 X5 3.0. REMOTE ENTRY ON THE KEY ONLY WORKS ONCE IN A WHILE. OTHER THAN PURCHASING A NEW KEY FROM BMW IS THERE A FIX OR ANY OTHER OPTION???

The key may be losing it's charge. Do you take a lot of short trips?

YES ON SHORT TRIPS. HAVE TRIED LONGER TRIPS AND PUTTING ON BATTERY CHARGER AND TURNING KEY TO POSITION2 FOR 2 HOURS. STILL NO BETTER

It's it's not completely dead, taking long trips should charge the key. If it doesn't, then you'll need to replace it.
