Adaptions
However after about 50km or more, it varies the service light comes on with the code saying o2 adaption limit reached. table 19 E4,E3. After doing research this could running rich or lean and possibly caused by air intake leak or dirty mass air flow sensor. I have also read that the adaption needs to be reset after the exhaust cam sensor is replaced and the Exhaust cam recognized. My question is do I need to take the X5 to the dealer to have the adaptions reset correctly, ie the peake doesn't do this. or do I have another problem. Your help is appreciated? |

check the corrugated intake portion after the filter and maf. it is commonly cracked and is an easy fix.

Ok thanks will check in the weekend.
Can you confirm that I don't need to take to the dealer to reset the adaption limits from replacing the Exhaust cam sensor. Or will the Peake do this. Many Thanks |

disconnecting the battery will clear some of the adaptations. the only time you need to clear or reset the adaptations is when removing or replacing the throttle body. if you have an air leak, and the adaptation has reached its limit, after repairing the component, and clearing the fault code. drive the vehicle and then the adaptations will come down by itself.
