Is Hubcentric Rings Nec.?

Hello -

Have a quick questions. Does everyone put hubcentric rings on their rep 20's? I have had 20" style 132 reps for 3 years now and catch a bit of a vibration on certain speeds and occasional braking. Would the rings fix this? I bought them from lakeshore and they claimed to already be hubcentric - so not sure on if this is a good move.

thoughts?

If so - any certain size I would need - it's a 3.0...

THANKS!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Hubcentric rings are only needed when the wheel hub is bigger than the hub on the vehicle. If the wheels you got from lakeshorewheelsandtires.com are already the right hub size and didn't vibrate/shake from the first moments then you have a different problem. Vibrations at speeds are usually wheel balance related, but under braking could possibly be warped rotors or worn bushings etc. and would need further diagnosis. Does the vibration happen constantly under speed, or just occasionally?

To be honest, ride has never been great with them. Have always caught a vibration between 45-55 and recently had breaks redone as well as bushings.

As for the braking, that is kind of mediocre as well. More often on slow to stop than on higher speeds.

I am using hubcentric rings on my reps and no vibration. I doubt it should relates to other issues like what Weasel says...

I bought 22's from lakeshorewheels.com

Mine needed hub centric rings supplied by lakeshore. I drove without them, and its like night and day with the hub centric rings installed.

You can always measure the diameter of your hub and the wheel hub, then you will know if this is your problem or not.

sounds more like a balance issue with those speeds. smooth at 70 right? if it were a hubcentric issue. the shake will get worst with higher speed

YES! Super smooth at 70 - needs to be balanced then?

While not necessity, I do think they rule out that variable.
