STORM TROOPER is on a distinguished road
caught the x5 on fire

well my dumb ass was changing out the alternator and didnt disconect the battery and needless to say it caught on fire!!! so the lead somehow penitrated 2rubber gloves that I had wrapped arround the lead an ccaught fire to one of the oil lines.... so now i need to replace the steel braided lines. has anyone ever replaced these before? How hard will it be to do?

The bad thing is you didn't even have to disconnect the battery... just the big 19mm nut at the positive jumper point as that big wire goes only to the alternator and starter. (for future reference at least)

As for the difficulty of the lines, I guess it depends on which engine you have... But it shouldn't be too bad as long as you have the right tools. Don't forget new copper washers for the banjo bolts.
