Question Strange Electrical problem? dim lights flashing

I have this strange problem which is hard to explain. But I will give it a try explain this as best as i can.
Last week my 2003 4.6is started to flash the dim lights in the cluster (It's the brightness light of the cluster if you know what i mean) along with all other lights that are on all buttons and knobs while I was driving. I didn't get any warning lights or check engine message whatsoever.
So it looked strange, and I was able to stop it from flashing by turning the dial knob (located next to headlight switch) for brightness all the way down.
It stopped flashing. then I also lost the sound from the radio completely. Radio looked like it was on but no sound was heard.
when i got home I found that fuses 73 and 74 located in the cargo are were blown. I tried to replace the fuses 73 and 74 but for some reason fuse 74 keeps blowing.
If i only keep fuse 73 radio plays fine, but the dim lights flash when turned all the way up. As soon as i put the fuse 74 it will blow. So currently I took fuse 74 out. everything works with an exception of the bright dim lights for cluster and all other interior buttons and knobs.
Does anyone know how i can fix this issue? or where should i star looking for a fix?
Thanks ahead of time.

It could be a number of different things, i would first check to make sure that you don't have any cut wires touching one another in the upper right trunk area, here is a picture of what I am referring to:

Under that rubber peace if all the cables seem intact then id start searching for water leaks within the spear tire area, if there are none there id start considering taking it to an indy...

Thanks,
i will look for those lose wires.
I took of the spare and that place seem dry. I unplugged and replugged the battery to see if that would fix, but no change.
BTW, when i unplug the battery isn't it supposed to reset my clocks and the on board computer data? I am asking this because it didn't on my X5. It usually does on my 2001 530i.

Try keeping it unplugged for around 24 hours, it does indeed reset everything.
