So I've been thinking about my exhaust...
What I was thinking was a 2 inlet/2 outlet flowmaster where the resonator is supposed to be and up it to 2.5" pipes after that running straight out the rear with big dual tips on each side (unless I can figure out how to get the 4.6is style tips on there and looking right) I was looking at this style muffler thinking it would fit right in... flowmaster mufflers Anyone have any experience with this type of setup and/or seen videos of something like it? I sure couldn't find any...

Found some inspiration!
Now these are all series 40 which has an aggressive sound, I'd be doing the series 50 dual in dual out which acts like an x-pipe in itself and has a moderate sound while being smoother as well.

Only a little bit... I typically prefer the smoother/deeper sound of the flowmaster than the more raspy aggressive tones of the magnaflow.

Well, flowmaster has so many different series and types of mufflers that you can get almost any sound you want. If I didn't come across the series 50 2 inlet 2 outlet muffler I'd likely go with a pair of hushpower 2 mufflers. Worth a look, and flowmaster has video clips for most of their lineup on the site as well.

The only problem with Flowmasters is their quality, which is downright crappy. I was actually very surprised by the sound, I really like it and did not think I would. Also, drone with Flowmasters will drive you nuts. If you go with the quiet Magnaflows it will have a nice sound and quality, or go with the Bill Boat exhaust, which has the 2 round tips you desire.

i think the one muffler where the resonator is with straight pipes all the way back will give it a deep sporty sound. keep the muffler on the quieter side and it should create a really nice sound that wont overpower the cabin.GO FOR IT! try putting on the new 4.8 tips or some dual rolled edge tips in stainless

I've always had good luck and quality with flowmaster, and have always been able to get the sound I want by knowing the ins and outs of the different series. The series 40 dual chamber would be way too much and would drone like crazy on the highway, especially if put in the stock muffler locations in the back. But the series 50 3 chamber delta flow would sound a lot smoother, and placed in the middle vs rear shouldn't drone much if at all.
And the E53 4.6is and 4.8is tips are the same, but the mufflers themselves are slightly different. Still interchangeable though. If I can find the 4.6is style rolled edge rectangular tips I'll go with that, otherwise some rolled edge dual round tips will look good enough. And of course I have no idea when I'm gonna have the extra time or money for this project as I currently have to pay back family, pay a couple grand in medical bills from the surgery, save for an $850 kayak, buy a couple replacement parts for my 3-wheeler, buy steel stock to modify my trailer, get polyurethane thrust arm bushings for my truck, etc. etc. etc. Too many projects, not enough time or money! (can I get a grant for the make weasels life easier foundation? )
