I don't know how accurate this info. is or if there are negative consequences. Its from another thread. Says that you can stop the SLS error by jumpering a sensor.

Would be good if someone can post the picture of where this sensor is and the number 12 wire on the E53 X5. I am also hoping to hear from Killcrap on the ZCS code as well as his advise about the jumper option. Here in Jamaica dealer wants almost $500US to provide ZCS to disable it.

TwinsPoppa this does not exist under the E53 rear seat, so not possible to bridge. Anyone knows where it is located on X5 and if this is possible.

Sorry but that was from another thread, another forum, for another BMW.

Just thought might help someone willing to further investigate as a possible option. I personally have not looked into it.

Maybe you'll be the first on this forum.

I just cann't undrstand why someone wants to delete the adjustable ride height function! If it is the case, why didn't you buy an E53 X5 without this functon? It would be much cheaper for X5 without adjustable ride height function.

IMO, it is impossible to delete the warning signal. So if someone wishes to delete the adjustable ride height function or self leveling function, you have to live with the warning signal for ever. I suggest that you should consider sell your x5 for another x5 that does no have self leveling/adjustable ride height function. You have no choice at all!

Roger you should investigate before you post on the forum, persons have removed self-level many times and delete the function if they have the ZCS code. Even the dealer offer this service but it is expensive to recode at dealer. It is just an option in the software.......

But requires a IBAC code from BMW to import this code, the older systems such as CIP/Progman and DisV44 can load the vehicle order without this IBAC code. I have been following this thread for a while.

Just picked up an 04 x5 4.4 with 50k miles.

Could you possibly PM me ? I need to get a ZCS code to turn off air susp. error .

My local indy in Dallas has a GT1 and I think they could help me out.

My car is an 04 4.4 and the front level sensor has failed. I am just waiting for the rest of it to start going bad.

I want to pull it off and replace with coil springs.

Interestingly enough, I spoke to strutmasters, the people I spoke to did not seem very knowledgable at all. They said for an extra $199, they have a module that plugs into rear view mirror somehow and defeats air suspension error message? Maybe this is true , I dont know. Sounds crazy.

Anyways, any help you can send my way is appreciated.

Doing that you will loose ride comfort that originally designed by BMW for the specific module of X. In the future, you will encounter lots of electronic problem that caused by delete/change of original setting of your X. God bless you. For the 4.4i model, only rear air spring equipped and it is not expensive to replace the rear air spring including parts and labor. For 2 axle air spring model, deleting the ride height function will loose inclination compensation function and the whole ride height will be changed, result in different driving experience from the original setting.

After replacing my rear air susp with a proper coil spring setup there was absolutely NO difference in ride or handling. I can't speak for the 4 wheel air susp models, but I doubt there would be much difference either.

The only downside is if you use the X for towing or hauling. I personally use my pickup for that.
