Rear Diff is leaking oil...
But has anyone here had this same type of issue before? What do they do? Just replace a gasket or something? Any information would be greatly helpful. Thanks. =) |

some seepage where the seals are dark and covered lightly in grime is what bmw calls normal...
dripping is not... if you are seeing drops of oil at the rear end of the car, the only thing it can be is the rear differential. take it to the dealer and have them replace it. i doubt the dealer will remove the whole differential just to replace the seals since that means a full rebuild of the rear end. it'll be easier for them to replace the unit as a whole and much faster to turn around... |
