New M3 steering wheel replacement

Has anyone any expierence with these steering wheels.?

BMW 3er E46 M Lenkrad Sportlederlenkrad bei eBay.de: Innenausstattung (endet 06.06.10 21:04:39 MESZ)

Is it an easy replacement from the sport wheel to install the mfl buttons(cruise control, volume, etc..)

Thanks for the link Mrbmwx5...

But i was also wondering if it is easy to move the buttons used for volume, cruise control etc, from my sport wheel, and fit it on this wheel.

I found out that it is indeed just to move the mfl buttons from one steering wheel to the other...

I got my new M3 wheel installed now, and MAN what a great update.. The car feels like new.

Ill post a pic later on..

thanks for the all the good tip..

The cost ($400 for the steering wheel and another $400 or more for the sport air bag) is what is stopping me from doing this mod. I think this is the best mod one can do. Had a loaner X3 with M steering wheel on it and it felt oh soo good.

I hear you..

I had the sport wheel from before and saved 400 bucks for the airbag.. Pluss i reused the mfl buttons from my sport wheel, and paid about 330 us for the new M3 wheel..

All in all not to expensive.

I've been thinking about about getting the wheel for quite a while, because the poor quality on the leather on the sport wheel was bugging me..
The car was great, but i got this cheap feeling gripping the wheel...

But now im all happy..

BTW, that X3 M wheels fits perfectly on E53 X5. And yes, steering wheel mod is one mod you feel(literally) the most during your X5 ownership.

I just ordered/recd a brand new M3 ZCP (alcantara) wheel, airbag, and Mr.Paddleshift retrofit kit - approx. $1,800 before installation.

As LeMansX5 stated - this is one mod that one literally will enjoy daily thru the fit and feel of every day driving!

I can't wait to have it installed.

PS: I just recd the Smurfette today, I am SOOOO in LOVE!

That doesn't look like an e46 M3 wheel, rather a ZCP - b/c of the black stitching, not tri-color.
