Picked up our X5 today - pics.

I posted a message a couple of weeks ago "Saying Hi", with pics of our "just landed at dealer" X5.

We picked it up today and so I thought I'd share the pics we took at the pick up.

Super! Congrats! I love the color. Did you have to pay more for reverse camera and sun-protection windshield?

Mods planned:

4.8is front spoiler and rear spoiler. The blue bits that sit at the bottom of the front and the back. Called bumpers in the UK. Is it "fenders" in the US?

We had to pay extra for a fair bit. The camera came out at £650. And that was discounted. Ever heard of a BMW dealer discounting???

Andy, that is a super looking X5 and an oil burner to boot. I am starting to like the 4.8is wheels better than the 4.6is wheels, I think.

Here in the States, we don't speak English, we speak American. Just kidding. We call the bumpers bumpers and the spoilers spoilers. What we call fenders you might call wings. Now what about the boot and the bonnet?

The "blue bits" you refer to at the bottom of the bumpers are called under-bumper spoilers as they are separate items.In your case ,for rear bumper you can just buy the 4.6/4.8 under-bumper spoiler(3 pieces) but for the front since you car is a facelifted X5 ,you have to buy the complete bumper as there is no spoiler available separately,as there is for the 4.6is.You could paint the lower part of your front bumper!

That's actually really interesting to know, 'cos our dealer is doing a fair bit of head scratching on this one. We have bought 2 MINI's from them over the past 3 years and we always spec them to be very individual. I don't think they were expecting a request for Mods for the X5.
