Hey all, I have a delemma, a good friend is willing to sell me his 09 X5 35d for ACV. I am not in love with the E70... Any thoughts...

The reason I recently purchased my '06 4.8is is that I just don't get the E70. To soccer-mom-ish and honestly it reminds me of the bubble feeling you get in the old '70's AMC Pacer.

Stick with the E53 styling!

Always take new over old. Plus the 35d is an awesome machine, 580m torque will blow the socks of most E53's in normal driving situations.... sure a 4.8 E53 will beat it over a quarter mile, but how often do you floor it for that long? In normal driving the torque from the 35d will make you smile plenty! And fuel consumption on the diesel is also better.

As much as I like the looks of E53, I think E70 is the best looking SUV ever made. The 35d engine, it is just icing on the cake.

I would do the switch in a heartbeat.

Now he tells me today its mine for $38K as that is what he can get for the trade. He wants the X6 which I think is god awful, it might grow on me, but, right now, its ugly to me. just my opinion.

I still think the E53 (especially my silver 06 4.8) is smokin hot and the sexiest SAV there is compared to anything on the road new or used!!! JMHO
