Service manager when I picked up my X5 yesterday. And he's been a BMW service manager for close to 15 years. And I'd been told the same thing with a previous Audi I had.

I'll let you know how long it takes to memorize my driving habits. Right now with standard programming the trans feels pretty lazy, wanting to shift into 4th and 5th at really low rpms.

I keep resisting the urge to pull it over into Sport mode. Supposedly that programming is preset and doesn't need to be initialized so any time spent in sport just prolongs the Drive initialization time.

Interesting points. In sport mode I think I have more transmission issues than in drive personally.
