If they fit only behind the wheel, then why two pieces and not one?

If one covers the whole lower bumper support, like the SE and 4.6/4.8 flares, then where does the other piece go? Only places would be on the upper arch or in front of the wheel next to the running board.

My guess would be on the upper arch. It's just much smaller in lenght compare to the SE and 4.6/4.8 flares.

EDIT: Looks like those parts are made for X5s with the optional AERO pkg and 20" wheels. They're NOT meant to be used with standard X5s w/o the aero pkg. Says right there on realoem:

RealOEM.com BMW E53 X5 4.4i BMW LA wheel, star spoke 87
Thanks for the input.
I looked at the same real.oem link but I failed to notice that it said Aero KIT..I think you are right and if I win the item I may be stuck with something useless, and will eventually have to get the 4.8is flares...

I had a look at photos that I have of X5s with the Aero kit but none of them show this wheelarch kit!I will keep looking

Twinpoppas colour is also one of my favorites, that ,black and dark grey!(well like most really.Hehehehe)
Mine is Brooklands Green but from some angles and without the sun shining its almost black...so ,yes ,,i like it too!
Also ,to me ,its the best colour to go with the Beige leather

Seller agreed to cancel my bids(80.00 gbp)....because on description of item he states that this will fit "standard" X5 arches and "someone" informed him that this is incorrect !

I still dont know if it fits or not!But bidding is now at 22.73 gbp....so if anyone interested, here it is..
BMW X5 WHEEL ARCH KIT on eBay (end time 07-Jun-10 21:40:23 BST)

Bidding ended at 82.00 Gbp...buyer anyone from here?

Mystery solved

I will answer my OP, eventhough twinpoppas got it spot on

From the installation instructions supplied by my friend that works at the portuguese Bmw dealer,it seems a useless add on!I dont see any need for it!

From the instructions, these can easily be applied to standard arches, but i dont see the point..Waste of 188.00 usd!

They are called "wings" (I can just see the tv commercial now.... BMW X5 now with 'wings') and I mentioned them a while back. See post #24:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ng-time-3.html

I'll be honest though, from the instructions I still can't figure out if they mount on the back or the front!
EDIT: They are for the rear only.

Twinspoppa has it correct this time(!), last time he was a bit off.
