What Transmission Shops in Central CT?

I'm looking for good Transmission Shops in Central CT. i live near New Britain CT and work in Meriden CT. any feedback is appreciated. i would prefer to stay away from a dealer unless you know they are willing to rebuild / fix as opposed to replace the whole unit out.

i have a 2002 X5 4.4i (A5S440Z Trans)

I'm was hoping to get someone who's worked on bimmers alot and would be willing to rebuild my valve body, provided they diagnosed that as the problem. (or just replace it with a re manufactured one)

heading up there around 4PM to pick her up. very nervous as to what the final bill is and what work they actually performed. they are a national shop so i'm not too concerned with them lying about work done, but you never know... economy is tough. also they gave me 36K miles / 36 Month warranty which is nice.

i see a BMW with a busted transmission, they see $$$

not ready... they said tomorrow. it's a good thing i'm patient.

i was supposed to pick it up around noon today and when i called this morning they said to give them to the end of the day. i showed up around 4:30 she was still on the lift, battery dead and deprived of any vital fluids. they said to wait 20mins or so, then the manager said to come back tomorrow. this will give them a chance to beat the snot out of it before me but whatever. i'll post again tomorrow.

And they STILL can't tell you the damage?! Something doesn't sound right. Usually they tell you the total BEFORE you pick it up. I'm not trying to be a jerk but I wouldn't wait until you get there. If only to be in a better frame of mind, in case ... well, you know.

Good luck, man.

yes i did get the total, i was even thinking $ from reading widebodys post... 3300 + tax, total around 3500$

he had given me a range at one time which started at 3300 and that was last week before he began ordering parts (kits) for it. i gave him 2K up front and expected to see a larger number when i arrived. when i got there today i asked to see the list of what was done, and the number was at 3300$. so that aspect is all set, just not so hot on the timing of being done. though i had mentioned it, they probably were caught off guard with how much fluid the unit actually takes. (they got me my Mobil 1 for my engine and the trans fluid from BMW)

Sorry, was focused on the $.

Well, it sounds like a fair price for a rebuild plus install. Hope things will go smooth during and after pickup.
