JL Audio Stealthbox 10" or BSW x108 ????

I tried to search for a comparison..... which one do you think is a better option???

I have a 2003 x5 Non DSP....

Couple factors Im looking for money saving and most important sound! What will hit my preferred Hip-Hop rock taste?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
The 8" sub in the BSW box will carry some decent tones and sounds pretty good, that's what I have but with an infinity reference sub in it. The JL uses a 10" which will have a more precise hit than the 8", which can get a bit boomy at times.

If you want the best bang for the buck there is another member who started fabricating custom boxes to fit in the same spot for $100 and you just throw a shallow mount 10" in there like the pioneer one.

Check this thread for the guy selling them for a fraction of the price of the JL box.

Many have built their own boxes like that for a few years on this forum with good results, apparently the guy just has the box measurements down good for building it consistently and has the time to crank them out. I'd think the box would sound similar to the BSW or JL box as they are all about the same volume, just the sub will be your choice in this case instead of having just a W1 trying to keep up. (no bigger JL subs will fit, depth wise)

I was always a JL guy myself, but they are still using that damned foam surrounds and every one I've had I have split the surround on. And I spend less money on the infinity reference and get cleaner bass with much more resilience.

The infinity ones look nice... But I believe I will need a shallow 10" sub though..Those infinity look to be standard and I dont think they will fit

Waste of a thread, had you just searched, this wouldn't even have been created. Get a hold of allstard12 on the lengthy subwoofer enclosure thread, he's making them for $100 plus shipping, you buy your own subwoofer and amp.

Ok first of all.... What does the title of this thread say?? Has anyone answered that question? Someone has actually instead of being a douche helped me by giving advise of this sub enclosure guy and they helped.. Your negative babbling is waste of time... Get a life

Listen here Shrek, I hit all your topics....

No matter what you do, these boxes are so damn similar in size due to the enclosure areas limitations that one isn't going to be hugely different than the other. Opinions are like you, so until you hear them IN PERSON, you'll never really know. Yes, people answered those questions, but your ear and sound quality level isn't the same as the next person. I've seen people drive past me with their stock stereo cranked, distoring like mad, but I bet in their eyes it sounded "tight". Quality sound is relative, just like asking "what exhaust sounds best"...you'll find opinions all over the f'ing highway!

Which sound better? They all sound about the same because whether you buy the BSW, JLAudio or even the homemade ones here, as they're all very similar copies of each other. See above in regards to what I said about the space limitation...not one enclosure is going to sound HUGELY different than the other based on that limiting fact, period.

Money saving factor? Which is cheaper, to buy some pre-fabbed subwoofer setup that costs in the $700+ range, or do like I suggested by reading the STILL active subwoofer thread where I gave you the advice of buying a subwoofer enclosure from a local member for a mere $100, picking your own $50-$75 subwoofer and similarly priced amp. If saving around 1/2 the money spent to accomplish the same thing on something that is going to be similarly sized no matter enclosure you choose to purchase isn't going to save you money, than I don't know what is.

I may be a "douche" for telling you that your thread was a waste of time, but at least it's honest. On that note, I have helped you because I referred you to someone that hits all your point...sounds good, saves money. What else is there?

Get a life? Are we 12? Really, you need to come up with some new material, maybe something that hasn't been said for YEARS and still sounds stupid when people say it. Good luck with your decision, Shrek.

BTW - Everytime I see people from Porkland, it always make me laugh and remember listening to Tom Leykis. Porkland, home of the other white meat. http://www.leykisonline.com/recordin...ndChubbies.mp3 Maybe after listening to this, you'll laugh and lighten up.

You make some points, But to say they sound the same...Does not make sense... Besides the fact that enclosures do make a huge difference, But also they are 2 totally different speakers not only in brand but size...8" to 10" makes a difference and a $80 amp would be pathetic... You need crisp clean power not a Walmart special.....

Anyways lets not battle over a forum thats lame
