How does it not make sense, have you even looked in the area where the subwoofer goes!? The area that is used for every subwoofer enclosure out there is like splitting hairs in regards to sizing differences. Subwoofer choice is your preference...I've got a Kicker L5 8" (which measures to about 9" of cone surface, a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub) vs those using a 10" (which is slightly less that 10" of cone surface, mostly single voice coil and a shallow-type sub) and I'm running a 300watt MTX JH300 monoblock amp ($80 shipped) that is rated to handle dual voice coil subs. I'm running an MTX 8100d in my 7, powering an REAudio 12" DVC. Search any audio forums, MTX has good stuff and bad stuff, and their good stuff is very underrated in both wattage and sound quality. I started with an REAudio 8" due to it having just enough magnet depth, but it didn't sound good. I then went with the L5 because it fit the depth, as well as sounding great. Other's have used Pioneer shallow 10's, but I read various opinions about lack of excursion with using a shallow subwoofer. Just like I mentioned before about opinions, the guy I referred you to who's making the boxes is running a Pioneer shallow and says it's very loud, but once again, it's all relative. He's running an Alpine amp that I just found on eBay for $95 shipped. I'm not referring to WalMart specials, but at the same time, you're going to be running huge amounts of power here either. Remember, you're running a single subwoofer (that will most likely run about 300 watts max) in a .45 or less enclosure, so you've got no need or can even use some 1000watt amplifier because it's such a small enclosure

Lame forum...that's not going to get you much help, and no one made you come here. If you don't want the help, go live and learn on your own instead of using our "lame" experience why asking for our opinions at the same time.

When did I ever say 2 ohms and 4 ohms is the same? You last sentence doesn't even make sense grammar wise. If you're referring to wattage in relation to sound quality, realize there are your WalMart choices out there that say they're 1000 watts. I'm not talking about crap amps, I'm saying middle to above average quality amps. How about this...do you really think you're getting the best of the best with those prefabbed kits? If so, then more power to you.

You got a lot of advise or advice, pick one. So far I haven't seen a lot of either on this thread since it's 1 page vs the 20+ pages on the subwoofer thread I keep telling you that you need to go to. I'm an asshole, sure...but how am I being negative. Hince? Is that even a word? Through all your shit talk, I'm still spoon feeding you the answers....youre so angry you can't even speel or write a coherant sentence. While you're still judging and name calling both me and this board, I'm still helping you're ass out. Troll? I've got hundreds of posts, you just broke the teens...who's the real troll here? As I said, if you don't like the asnwers on a PUBLIC forum, then take your ass elsewhere. Even with YOUR negativity, I'm still helping you out with your redundant and pointless thread that could have been answered had you just done some reading beforehand. If you know so much, then just go buy something already. I've given you my .02 and then some.
