Total Loss Accident: Need Help

Really could use your guys' help right now. Long story short, I was hit, lady claimed responsibility and her insurance has taken over.

When the x5 was taken to the collision center, it was determined to be a 'total loss' (cost of repairs exceeded value). I am so sad, because this car was amazing to drive and it is a financial loss as well.

Can you help me come up with a fair value to present to the insurance company, because I am pretty sure they're going to try to screw me?

2004 x5 4.8is 56k miles black on black with OEM alcantara interior. Interior was literally mint/flawless, bodywork was flawless with exception of paint chips on hood. Options include everything except bluetooth, which wasn't offered in 04. Reply in thread, or pm if required. THANKS!

KBB puts the retail value at $31,205. There's a 2004 4.8is on Ebay with a buy it now price of $32,950 (though it has ~45K miles). Looks like $31K-$32K is the value.

If you can get $31k-$32k that is probably pretty good.

Sorry to hear about the vehicle - any possibility you may be buying it back to part out?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Legally should be retail value of vehicle + TTL fees.

i don't know how insurance work in the states but in canada...it always is worse off then before...you never get the full worth of the car, instead back two steps. Insurance is suppose to put you back in the same position, not worse off or ahead.....sorry to hear about your loss. glad your ok.

Hmm ... I'm thinking its a good bet they're not gonna give you retail value. Maybe someone in the industry can give us an idea.

Maybe $25K, at best, is my guess.

Sorry for your loss.
