Delete old phone numbers???

I have tried to delete old phone numbers from the display in my X5 without any luck - any ideas??

I have deleted connection from the phone to the system in the car a few times, but when I re-connect the old numbers are still there - even if they are deleted from the phone.

X5 with Nav screen - Nokia 6500 Classic - Bluetooth
