Best way to lower my 05 4.4i!

Can you give give me some ideas of the best way to lower my x. I knowni have airbags in the rear, so all I need is to change springs or coil overs? Also will it mess up the ridenif I lower the x? Thanks in advance!!!

do a search its been talked about many times. jst2878 used coilovers for the front and removed the bags in the back and retrofited springs i think.

Kw suspension has a complete kit for the 3.0. U just have to retrofit the rear with their springs. Lowered 2.5", and the ride is awesome. Can't recommend this company enough.

Can u just get coil overs in the front and adjust the rear airbags. How much us the kw coil over ?

I have an '05 4.4i Sport and just went with Eibach Sways, B&G Springs, rear endlinks and spacers for the lowered ride...I'll be taking my Indy this week to have it performed...

the dealer will give u a hard time if they will lower the rear at all. Depending how low u go the airbags wont work if there isnt enough air in it

I see you're in NY... I'll adjust the rear air suspension for you for $50 if you'd like. If you have the air suspension all around, I could lower it all around.

I haven't tried adjusting an X5 w/ the rear only air-suspension, but I believe it's doable. I can do other features also like having the windows roll up by holding the lock button on the key at the same time. If I find that the air suspension isn't doable and you wouldn't want any other programming done, obviously I wouldn't charge you.

One of the advantages of this website is to inform members of the do's and dont's of our vehicles. Mrbmwx5, engz, myself, and I'm sure some others did not like the sacrifice of ride stability once lowering the airbags. Save your 50 or 100 dollars and put it towards full coilsprings front and rear.

Is it really that bad? I did it for a guy in Brooklyn and he swore that the ride wasn't affected negatively at all. I don't want to harm anyone's car, but if the drop is conservative, like 25-30 mm, I don't think it'd be a big issue?

I drive an E46 so I can't give any personal experience I had with it

Hey, I've done H&R kit and Eibach etc... have no probs and I love it. You can search for my posts.
