'06 X wheels on a 2001 740 il (Will they fit?)

BMW Rim Bolt Pattern Reference Guide RimBoltPattern.com

I'm trying to find out if '06 X wheels will fit on a 2001 740il.

The above site has all the info listed and I think the wheels would work but the site has the X's hub listed as 74mm. I thought it was 72.56mm.

X5 4.401-UP19x85x12014x1.5b74.1H

740,75095-0216x7.55x12012x1.5b72.56H

It looks like the offset is the same listed as "H". I'm guessing that the tires would have to be swapped with a little less profile.

Can anyone verify this for me.
Thanks!

They will fit, but you are going to need spacers to push the wheel away from the hub, other than that you should be ok.
I am currently running 7 series wheels on my X and I still put on 25mm spacers in the back.

I am sorry for jumping the gun.

Is your '06 X5 an E53 Model?
If it's not, then your bore size will be too small and in that case you will need hub centric ring as well.

IF they had the same offset, it would make things simpler. That's a big IF though - especially when that link is full of incorrect info.

Like:

- E53 listed as 74.1mm hub bore .... no, it has 72.56. The E70 is the one that has 74.1 bore.

- 4.6 OE wheel size listed as 20x8.5 .... no, it has 20x9.5 front and 20x10.5 rear.

Obviously, I would not bother with that link.

I would consult with a wheel/tire shop and see what they say. Otherwise do the following:

1. Find the actual wheel specs of both sets. Especially, the wheel offset.

2. Plug those numbers into a wheel offset calculator like this:
Wheel Offset Calculator

3. Measure your existing clearances and see if they fit.

Note: Remember that you're working in 3 dimensions so it can be tricky. That's why you want to ask the tire/wheel experts. The X5 wheels will be bigger as their 20s and the 7 series probably had what ... 17s, 18s or 19s ... hopefully not 16s?!

Good luck!

Which style X wheels are you looking at? E38 740 offset is between 13 to 25.
You have to look at both for bore size and offset.

Thanks, that site cleared it up for me. The x wheels will not fit without the proper spacers. The offset is 20/22 vs 48 on the X.

Thanks a lot for all the assistance guys.
