This is where the “X” gets the “x” between the two 4’s
Hey All,
Ok, who hasn’t had their X get them out of a “sticky” situation? Let’s hear them! My situation happened when I was headed to a shooting range in Germany in my X and I was fallowing my GPS to the location. I missed a turn and as you all know the GPS promptly recalculated a new route. The problem is the GPS was trying to route me through farm field roads so I kept going until I finally found a paved road that the GPS was routing me on (this is with a TomTom by the way). So I make a right turn on a paved road which turned into a crushed gravel and then to dirt. By the time I realized where I was and how far I had to go I was stuck on one of those tractor roads that divides farm property. To make matters worse it had rained the previous two days strait and the road was pure sludge. The GPS was showing I had just under 1km to my arrival and I had no way of turning around. This is where the “X” gets the “x” between the two 4’s. Since there was no looking back I buckled down and headed forward to my destination. I was driving by myself and wish I had a witness. I mean I had tears running down my face because I was laughing so hard. I had to turn my windshield wipers on because mud was flying up all around me and I couldn’t see out my window. The X was turned sideways on the muddy road but kept going forward at a 45 degree angle. I knew if I’d stop I’d be stuck in the middle of nowhere and couldn’t believe the X kept trudging on. I don’t know how I was able to keep the X on the road but I finally saw the gates to the shooting range and pulled up to the range and parked the X next to a tough looking Jeep. The range operator (who drives the tough Jeep) came out and started laughing. He asked me what color my X was and quickly ran inside to go get his camera. He told me he’d never seen a BMW so dirty. I was so proud of my X.
